The youngest generation of Polish composers on the stage of the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera: Aleksander Nowak (1979) is a composer honoured with many awards and nominated to the prestigious OPUS Award. Thanks to his wonderful ability of synthesizing different elements of musical tradition he may be compared to Thomas Adès, a highly-regarded British composer. The compact one-act opera Sudden Rain focuses on intentions which usually diverge from actions. Using music, Nowak suggestively outlines two characters of a married couple and leads the listener to the unexpected final.

Agata Zubel (1978) is a well known composer and vocalist, winner of the ”Polityka” Passport Award in 2004. With a real passion she looks for new colours and performance possibilities, mainly by using computers. She executes her projects with Cezary Duchnowski under the name of ElettroVoce duo. Between, as the title suggests, is a between-genres work, opened to creative invention of its producer. Musicians were replaced with six speakers surrounding the audience and transmitting three-dimensionally composed electronics. Only the solo female voice is performed live and that voice awakes emotions becoming the starting point for next visual or dance activities.

TERYTORIA (TERRITORIES). A series for the Chamber Hall. Presentation of 20th ans 21st century works of opera and ballet which are almost absent from Polish theatres. Modern, sophisticated, contemporary, exploring extreme, sometimes ultimate emotional states, they are usually inspired by great works of literature, while their music does not let one easily forget itself.

TERYTORIA (TERRITORIES) is an attempt to seek new aesthetic qualities and forms of expression, to delineate innovatory veins, to release unknown visions and associations. To collaborate on the pieces, Polish National Opera invites the most interesting contemporary musical, theatrical and visual artists.
