Russian conductor, a graduate of the departments of choral and symphony/opera conducting at the Novosibirsk Conservatory (1989). Early in his career, he worked with the music theatres of Novosibirsk, and has been a conductor with the Novosibirsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre since 1990. He has been the conductor of the Irkutsk Philharmonic for several years, and was appointed guest conductor of the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theatre in 2008.
He has conducted performances of Adam's Giselle, Bizet's Carmen, Borodin's Prince Igor, Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, Yolanta, The Queen of Spades, The Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake, Delibes's Coppelia, Donizetti's Rita and Lucia di Lammermoor, Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, Mozart's The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni and Le Nozze di Figaro, Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov and Khovanshchina, Puccini's Tosca, La Bohème and Madame Butterfly, the ballet The Moor's Pavane to music by Purcell, Rimsky-Korsakov's Mozart and Salieri, Sadko, The Tsar's Bride and Sheherazade, Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Stravinsky's Petrushka, and Verdi's Aida, La Traviata, Nabucco, Otello and Rigoletto.
With the Novosibirsk Opera, he has performed as a guest conductor in Spain (Barcelona, Seville), Germany (Berlin, Munich), Portugal (Lisbon), Italy (Rome, Calari), Egypt (Cairo), China (Shanghai), Japan, and Thailand (Bangkok). In concert, he has presented the works of Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Haydn, Grieg, Liszt, Mahler, Mendelssohn, Ravel, Saint-Saëns, Schubert, and Schumann. He has received many awards, and was recently nominated Russia's best opera conductor for preparing the music for Alfred Schnittke's opera Life With an Idiot. He is a teacher as well, teaching conducting at the Novosibirsk Conservatory since 1996.
In the 2008/2009 season, he was the principal conductor of the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera. At the Polish National Opera, he conducts Tchaikovsky's Onegin and Swan Lake.
