Baritone. A graduate of the Academy of Music in Kraków. Prize-winner of prestigious vocal competitions, including in Gütersloh (Neue Europäische Stimmen), Vienna (Belvedere), Munich (main prize at the ARD International Competition). He has performed at the world’s leading opera theatres, including in Berlin (Deutsche Oper, Komische Oper, Staatsoper), Dresden, Essen, Frankfurt. He has also appeared in Hanover, Hamburg, Karlsruhe, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich, Nuremberg, Amsterdam, Brussels, Cincinnati, Edinburgh, Florence, Glasgow, Hong Kong, London (Covent Garden, Albert Hall), Malaga, Milan (La Scala), Montpellier, New York (Metropolitan Opera, Fisher Hall), Paris (Opéra Bastille), St. Petersburg, Tel Aviv, Toulouse, Tokyo, Vancouver, Vienna. He has taken part in numerous music festivals, including Glyndebourne (Macbeth). At the Polish National Opera, he has appeared in the operas Simon Boccanegra, Rigoletto and Traviata by Verdi, and in Bizet's Carmen.
He has performed with many famous conductors, including Christian Thielemann, Colin Davis, Roger Norrington, Arnold Oestmann, Riccardo Chailly, Gary Bertini, Edo de Waart, Pinchas Steinberg, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Simone Yang, Helmut Rilling, Kazushi Ono, Stefan Soltesz, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Vladimir Jurowski, Sylvain Cambreling, Yakov Kreizberg, Roberto Abbado, Richard Armstrong, Riccardo Muti, Carlo Rizzi, Zubin Mehta, Valery Gergiev.
Among the artist's many successes, it is worth mentioning his debut at Milan’s La Scala (Rigoletto, Il Trovatore) conducted by Riccardo Muti, numerous performances at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino festival with Zubin Mehta (Il Trovatore, Attila, Tosca). In 2007 he debuted at New York's Metropolitan Opera and Fisher Hall; 2008 was the year of his debut at London’s Covent Garden (La Traviata). In the same season, he returned to Paris (Luisa Miller at the Bastille), Amsterdam (Un Ballo in Maschera), and Hamburg (Macbeth) as well as performing in King Roger in St. Petersburg and Edinburgh, Rigoletto, La Traviata in Hamburg, La Traviata in New York (at the Met), La Traviata in Los Angeles, Stiffelio at the Met, Simone Boccanegra in Toulouse. He is the only Polish baritone to sing the main Verdi baritone parts at the world’s biggest and most prestigious venues.
His plans include performances in Aida at Hamburg’s Staatsoper, Tosca at the Staatsoper Berlin, Macbeth in Glyndebourne, Rigoletto in Santiago de Chile, La Traviata in Munich, Tosca in Berlin again, a new production of La Traviata at the Metropolitan Opera, Iolanta in Dresden, Pagliacci and Cavalleria Rusticana in Hamburg, Nabucco in Brussels, Macbeth in Hamburg, Aida at the Orange Festival, The Makropoulos Affair in Florence, La Traviata in Houston, The Queen of Spades in Hamburg, Rigoletto in Chicago, King Roger in Brussels, and La Traviata in Paris.
