Stanisław Moryto
  Outstanding contemporary composer, organist, and teacher. Born in Łąck near Nowy Sącz, he is a graduate of the State Higher School of Music in Warsaw, in the class of Feliks Rączkowski - organ (1971), and in the class of Tadeusz Paciorkiewicz - composition (1974). In 1973-81 he was chairman of the Jeunesses Musicales de Pologne Association of Polish Youth Music, and in 1981-97 - president of the Polish Institute of Music. He is the initiator and artistic director of the Organ Music Conversatorium in Legnica. He was deputy rector of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in 1996-2002, dean of the faculty of composition, conducting, and music theory in 2002-2005, and has been the university's rector since 2005. He is a full professor and a member of the Fryderyk Chopin Institute's Programme Board.

   His career as a concert organist began when he was still a student. He has performed in countries such as Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Spain, Germany, Hungary, and Italy. He has recorded numerous organ works for radio stations and record companies, including Polskie Nagrania, Polonia Records, MTJ, Acte Préable, BeArTon, Sonoton Pro Viva in Munich, and HZ Edition in Berlin.

   His compositions have been performed at concerts and music festivals in Poland and abroad (Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Spain, The Netherlands, Japan, Canada, South Korea, Cuba, Lebanon, Lithuania, Germany, Norway, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, United States, Vatican, Hungary, United Kingdom, Italy). He was the initiator of several series of publications of early and contemporary Polish music for the organ, including the Kraków Organ Tablature from the first half of the 16th century and the Gdańsk Organ Tablature from 1591, the Warsaw Organ Tablature from the 17th century, the Conversatorium Collection, and a series called First Editions of Music by Polish Composers. He has received many awards and distinctions for his work as a composer.
